Innovation based on Experience 70’s - Full commitment to safety footwear In 1974, Lemaitre Sécurité concentrates its production on safety footwear and specializes in the manufacturing of highly technical shoes adapted to extreme environments. 80’s - Modernization of equipments During the 80’s, the company modernized its equipment. First with a polyurethane machine, then with automated sewing systems and finally a Desma PU injection machine. In 1989, a Computer-Assisted Production System was introduced in order to ensure a strict follow-up of our production. 90’s - Development of international markets In 1991, the company decided to access more international markets and since then has established sales offices, subsidiaries and licensing agreements in a number of countries around the world. In 1997, the company continued its international development with the establishment of a joint-venture production in South Africa.
